There will be another session in the fall for those who can't get out of work this time. (and try for a night session) Email Marge if you can make it. They will need sewers, cutters, and people to iron. Also, if you have fabric for sashing and for more cancer block bring them along.
Formerly, a quilt shop in northern Minnesota, Seams Like Home Quilt Shop has closed it's brick and mortar doors in April 2011. But quilting and crafting remain a large part of my life, giving me a creative outlet for relaxation and friendship. One of the clubs that was started in my shop has now evolved into a group of friends that meet each month. I don't want to call it a "quilt club," because I think it is more than that...I hope to continue that feeling in this blog.

Hi Everyone!! Bette and Marge met to plan the putting together of the cancer blocks. They looked at the calendar and decided to start with a day session at Bette's. It will be on May 23rd, 9-12. The Plan: to finish off with a salad potluck luncheon. (Who knows, you might even end up on the pontoon!)

Seam Sisters Update
Seam Sisters Update
1.) April’s meeting will be on Tuesday, April 3rd 6pm at Jan Hennager’s home in Moose Lake. Her address is 5064 West Rd. She is on the same side of the road as Roxie, but one driveway towards Moose Lake. When you turn into her driveway, she is the 2nd home.
2.) There will be periodic updates for Seam Sisters projects on my blog. The address is:
www.seamslikehomequiltshop.blogspot.com
3.) Keep making 9-Patches out of your scraps. We will hope to divide the pile up in June so that we can finish some quilt tops with them. Use a variety of fabrics... no need to just stay in the pinks.
4.) There is open sewing in Barnum this Saturday 3/10 at the high school. It starts at 8am and goes until 6pm at the latest. The cost is $2. There is no need to pre-register, just show up if you can.
5.) June fundraiser at Linden Hill/ Musser Mansion: Still don’t see info on this on their website. The tentative date is: Saturday, June 30th. I believe it is $15 a plate in advance. $20 at the door. We are still talking about finishing the Spring Block Exchange quilt to donate as a raffle item for this fundraiser. We will have to finalize plans at the April meeting.
6.) There are still 2 openings for the Linden Hill April Retreat. The dates are Friday, April 27th 5pm- Monday, April 30th at noon. Cost is $160 without potluck duty or $135 with potluck duty. Money needs to be paid by March 16th. If you are interested, let me know ASAP.

Donation Blocks
Fellow Seam Sisters:
Tonight we enjoyed a lovely evening at Elsie's! During the meeting, we discussed making blocks for donation quilts. Here are the specifics:
1.) 9 1/2" unfinished size (that means 3 1/2" squares)
2.) Nine Patch pattern
3.) Use your scraps. We will coordinate the blocks as we accumulate an assortment to choose from.
4.) Have fun with it!
More posts to follow soon with: pictures of show and tell items, updates on the Round Robin Row Quilt Challenge, and more.
